»Portable Review's Wishlist 2007
"Join the PR Crew as they share their most anticipated titles of 2007."
Ah, as 2006 winds down, we here at Portable Review have decided to look forward, to the future. While we’ve had quite a few hits and misses this year, several returning franchises and original titles, and overall, a nice haul in terms of all three systems; it’s time now to look towards 2007 and the many titles we’re anticipating for next year. So I masterminded this little article, asking staff member to not only post games they’re anticipating for next year, but also other titles that they would eventually like to see the light of day. The various titles range in possibility from the near-definite (Loco Roco 2) to the pretty much impossible (Megaman Powered Up 2). So, without further ado, let’s begin.

Looking forward to in 2007:
Lost in Blue 2 The original Lost in Blue was extremely addictive for me, and while it was far from perfect, it was a very entertaining. If some of the problems of the original are fixed and more gameplay elements are added, this could definitely be one of the must-have titles of the year.
Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass After beating Twilight Princess, I want more Zelda. NOW.
Eyetoy: Portable Personally, I just want to see how this is going to work. Hold the PSP in one hand and make motions with the other? Make funny faces? Do you have to set the PSP down to play it? This title makes me wonder...
Devil May Cry The PSP might be able to pull this series off without having to try to dumb down the game's mechanics. It'll be interesting to see how much development time will be put into this game, especially when the ps2's bigger titles are coming out for PSP already. Killzone, Syphon Filter, Metal Gear Solid and Jax have proven that if time is spent on the game, it can definitely be good.
Wishful Thinking: Soldat DS Not everyone has probably heard of Soldat, but it's a very fun 2-D shooter. Think Counter-strike mixed with Worms. Dragging the stylus around you to aim, firing with L or R, while moving around with the D-pad. If done right, and online, it could be extremely addictive.
Parappa the Rapper Seriously, why did Sony port the original to PSP? I want a new Parappa. Well, they failed with Parappa 2, but they could at least try again...
Gunstar Heroes: Dual Soldiers Okay, maybe the title needs some work, but I'm always up for a new Gunstar Adventure.
Loco Roco 2 I'm not sure if Loco Roco was as big of a success as Sony had hoped, but it's definitely a neat little game. A new one with more things to do would be neat.
God of War PSP The PS2 game is just amazing, so, with the new wave of PS2 games getting PSP treatment, God of War would make sense, no?

Looking forward to in 2007:
Hotel Dusk: Room 215This game is highest on my list for a reason. I think Cing, the developer responsible for both this and Trace Memory are the only ones developing for the DS that understand the system fully and exactly what I want out of my adventure games.
Pokemon Diamond/Pearl These games rock. There's no doubting their multiplayer greatness, and now we can all play one another via the internet. What could a gamer want more than this?
SNK VS Capcom: Card Fighters Clash 3 By far, my favorite card game ever. I can't wait until it hits the DS this spring.
Dungeons & Dragons Tactics This looks to be a great D&D game with lots of classes and a decent ruleset. I just hope the load times are decent.
Metal Slug Anthology I can't believe it got delayed so long. Fucking Nintendo and their paying for longer exclusivity.
Capcom Puzzle World Yet another delayed game for the PSP. It should be a good rendition of Puzzle Fighter.
Dead Head Fred This game looks to please old-school fans. Specifically, fans of Kid Chameleon. D3 has the ability to handle this properly and perhaps get them out of the current rut they're in.
Phoenix Wright: Justice For All It took me a while to get my hands on the first one, but I'll be picking this one up as soon as it drops. I just hope they add some more player interaction this time around.
Final Fantasy Tactics PSP Call it the Playstation Port-able all you want. Keep these ports coming.
Gurumin This looks to be an awesome platformer with cute graphics. I hope it succeeds.
Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion If they manage to pull this game off without a hitch, I will be quite impressed.
Wishful Thinking:
Disgaea PSP
2D Castlevania on PSP
Virtua Fighter 5 PSP
An original DS game that doesn't rely on gimmicky mini-games.
An original [see “not ported” – ed.] PSP game
Monster Hunter Freedom 2 [It’s not 100% certain to have a US release – ed.]
8GB Memory Stick Pro Duo
