Hardware Review
»Intec Pro Gamers Kit
  ""

I’m sure you’ve all seen these cases in Funcoland or Gamestop. They’re pretty huge and ugly, but they’re tempting to buy. It comes with a bunch of stuff and it doesn’t always come with the best stuff. Read through to see my impressions on the included equiptment.

Safe Screen
The screen protector that comes in the Intec kit really isn’t as high end as some of the other ones I’ve used. The screen doesn’t get washed out much at all, but getting it on is a real pain the ass. I’ve never had as much trouble trying to get bubbles out of a screen protector than this one. The squeegee they give you doesn’t seem to do the job, but it’s probably the screen’s fault. It didn’t seem to stick well.

Game Buds
The retractable Game Buds are pretty cool. I couldn’t figure how to roll them up right away and I don’t think I could explain how. You pull at them from one end and it just seems to detract itself. The headphones seem to come apart pretty easily and the sound isn't really the best quality.

Car Adaptor
The car adaptor is just like any other Car Adaptor on the road, except this one is made especially for the PSP. It says you should have the PSP off before plugging it in to charge, so be forewarned. The instructions are simple enough and pretty self explanatory. Plug, if the charge light comes on, you’re good to go. When it’s done charging, the charge light will go off. It’s Simple.

Game Case
I was kind of disappointed that the kit only came with one of these. The case is made out of a hard plastic and holds the games in there perfectly. It does look more like a retainer case (I know we’ve all had them) than a game case. With an all black exterior, it doesn’t draw any attention to itself. I wouldn’t be afraid to keep this thing in my pocket. It’s small, handy for carrying games and keeps them protected.

Safe Strap
The safe strap is a lanyard that is long enough to go around your neck. If you’re really inept enough to need one of these – you should be slapped already. I can imagine it’s pretty dorky to keep it around your neck all day and pretty dangerous as well. I can’t really think of a worse place than hanging around my neck for the PSP to be. It’s really not safe.

Overall
The Pro Gamers kit comes with a few useful things, but at $30, it’s not the best deal in the world. The case is a nice aluminum briefcase, but it’s pretty impractical for a PORTABLE console. If you want to leave your PSP at home and keep it protected, by all means, go for this case. It’s a nice place to store all of the accessories you’ve gotten, but other than that, I can’t really say there’s much use for the case. If you’re going to buy it, the best things out of it are the game case and the car charger.
