Need a quick fix to
protect your PSP screen? Then, you really don’t have to look any
further than this review. The Nyko Screen Armor does just that – it
protects the screen and that’s about all it does. The design is simple,
the design is functional, but I think the PSP deserves a little more
protection than what the Nyko Screen Armor offers.
Nyko’s design is pretty simple. It has an aluminum front with rubber
interior and clips onto the front of the PSP with two little flaps on
the top and bottom. The top flap has two little nubs that fit into the
screw holes, the bottom has a nub that sits in the screw hole and both
fit in behind the little silver ring around the PSP.
On a whole, the Nyko Screen Armor looks pretty dumb while on the PSP,
but you might look at differently. The product itself looks great with
the polished aluminum front. The construction of it is pretty solid and
doesn’t take much damage from anything. I had it in my pocket for a day
and there was nothing noticeable on the cover.

Once the Screen Armor is on, there’s really no way to get it off
besides lifting on one of the flaps. It’s pretty safe to say that it
moving around in a backpack or pocket would definitely not cause the
Screen Armor to pop off. The Screen Armor definitely offers some
protection to the screen. With it on… the screen is insanely protected,
while the rest of the PSP is left to the outside world. If you’re
looking for overall protection, this isn’t for you, but this thing
protects the screen darn well.
One of the things Nyko says on their website is that it will fit inside
most cases. I’ve tried a few of the other cases I have and it didn’t
fit in any of them. Those of you with an Aerocase, I definitely think
it’d fit in there and get rid of any worries you have about damaging
your PSP. The cover is pretty small, but I still had a hard time
getting it into the case that comes in the PSP Value Pack to the point
where I gave up on it.
If you’re looking for something to protect your screen, you might want
this. If you want something you protect your whole PSP, you might not.
Coupled with an Aerocase, this thing is probably flawless. I don’t know
an exact price on this product yet, but if it’s about $10, I can
definitely see it being worth while for a simple and effective solution.
